Jago Geerts is also on the side
Days also look radically different for the best motocross riders in the world now that the Cornovirus is spreading wildly. In consultation with Yamaha and his team, Jago Geerts decided yesterday not to train with the motorcycle for 14 days. This is to avoid taking unnecessary risks.
“I fully support this choice,” explains the British MX2 GP winner. “As a top athlete I have an exemplary role and I must also know the scope of that. The hospitals are already being overwhelmed by the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus, so it is not our intention as motocross riders to take unnecessary risks and possibly sustain injuries that will create even more work for hospital staff.”
