Cairoli and Prado from now on in Thor clothing!
After two seasons in Answer Racing, Tony Cairoli and his teammate Jorge Prado are switching to Thor MX! Cairoli remained loyal to European brands (Progrip and Axo) for a long time, but is now moving on to the American tour. In addition to the European factory KTM team in the MXGP, the Standing Construct GasGas riders Glenn Coldenhoff and Ivo Monticelli also compete in Thor.
Hylton Beattie, THOR Global Motorsports Director, stated, “I am very proud and pleased to announce that we have signed with the De Carli factory KTM Team for 2020 & 2021. Claudio De Carli and his super professional crew will host THOR's World Championship further strengthen the motocross program. The Red Bull KTM Factory MXGP Race Team with riders like Tony Cairoli and Jorge Prado will allow us to win more motocross titles in the future.”
Thor was founded in 1968 as Torsten Hallman Original Racewear by four-time motocross world champion Torsten Hallman. The last motocross world title for Thor dates back to 2008 with David Philippaerts. Who knows, the legendary brand from San Diego could pick up the thread again this year with an Italian rider!
For Cairoli, this would mean a tenth world title, equaling Stefan Everts' record.
