Thomas Do crowns himself champion in SX2 class SXTour!!
Tonight was the day, it was D-Day for the title candidates in the SX2 class. Thomas Do, Yannis Irsuti and Calvin Fonvieille had to decide among themselves who could call themselves “SX Tour champion of 2019” in the SX2 class.
In the first rounds the entire title fight seemed to tilt in favor of Calvin Fonvieille, the Yamaha pilot had secured the holeshot and briefly managed to lead the race. This initially for Thomas Do and then for Brian Hsu, who seemed to play into the hands of Calvin Fonvieille. This way the Frenchman had a buffer between him and his first competitor, who poses no threat to the title. Only one detail Brian Hsu has been riding at a high level since the Supercross in Zuidbroek this winter, and seems to want to prove every weekend that he can still make something of his career. Bad luck for Calvin Fonvieille, the German Hungarian Taiwanese did not take the title fight or possible friend services into account. No, he also passed Calvin Fonvieille and won the last “Main Event” of the SX Tour championship in the 250cc class.
Behind Brian Hsu it was a matter of seeing who would finish where, Calvin Fonvieille eventually finished a close second ahead of Thomas Do. This was enough for Thomas Do to claim the title and Calvin Fonvieille also received a bonus with his second place in this main event. Because in the end he jumped to second place in the championship, at the expense of Yannis Irsuti who finished fourth in Amnéville!
Nolan Corden did not participate in all competitions, but managed to secure twenty-third place in the championship with four points.
