Preview BK Motocross Orp-le-Grand
This weekend Orp-Le-Grand is preparing for the International Motocross at the Kleine Gete. After the Keiheuvel, the picturesque Walloon Brabant village will host the second classic Belgian top competition. Despite, or precisely because of, the Chinese GP, AMC Orp can still present a very good field of participants. Highly recommended!
The combination of natural elements, the spectacular, technical section along the hillside and over the Kleine Gete combined with modern influences make Orp-le-Grand unique in the world. Moreover, we can expect a lot of fast men for this top organization.
In total, Orp, which is very accessible and centrally located, has no fewer than five Inter series on the programme. In addition to 2 Inters 250cc and 2 Inters 500cc heats, there is also a Super Final in which the best from both classes compete against each other! Shaun Simpson (RFX KTM Racing) not only won the Belgian title in Orp-le-Grand in 2011, he was also the strongest there last year. The fast Scot will have to deal with the Hutten Metaal Yamaha duo Anthony Rodriguez (MX2 winner in 2018) and Micha-Boy De Waal. Even more Dutch talent is expected in the 500cc because Lars Van Berkel, recent ONK winner in Lierop, will also make an appearance.
Being from the Belgian side Jeffrey Dewulf, Kevin Fors, Ken De Dycker en Steve Ramon the main podium candidates in the half-litres. De Dycker has already won twice on the 'little Citadel' and Steve Ramon was also on the highest podium. Of this foursome, Dewulf is the only one without a final victory in Orp, but given his technique and experience, Jeffrey could change that next Sunday!
In the 250's Cyril Enjoyment certainly one of the favorites, although the sympathetic Limburger has to deal with, among other things, Raivo Dankers, Mark Boat en Lars Greek Spoor. Club rider Clément Desalle is also expected to make an appearance on Sunday. Unfortunately not yet ready to ride, but the Monster Energy Kawasaki rider will be there for a photo and autograph session.
On Saturday the competitions are organized in collaboration with the FPCNA and the final of the Walloon FMWB championships will be completed. Just like in previous years, a series for vintage cars will also be added to the program on Sunday. In recent years, Orp-le-Grand has welcomed around 600 riders over the two days. Hopefully that will be the case again this year!
If you want to experience it yourself, you pay 25 euros (for both days), which includes the price of the parking and the program. So great value for money! You can also enter for free if you are 14 years old, provided that you are accompanied.
