Brackman dictates the law during MCLB BK trial in Oostkamp!
In Oostkamp, the MCLB Internationals were presented with their sixth Belgian Championship test of the season. This Belgian championship organized by the MCLB federation has so far been dominated in the “500cc category” by Wietse Brackman. That was last weekend, no different! The Leon Sagaert by Xavier Beel Husqvarna pilot has been performing at a very high level in recent months and is perhaps in the best shape of his life.
Wacko Bracko won both heats and thus also won the MCLB BK Trial of Oostkamp. In the first heat, the man, who can often be found on the jet ski, managed to lead the race from start to finish. At the finish he had about half a minute ahead of Torpjurn Van Hoe and Mattis Meersschout. Jurgen Wybo came in fourth place, first 250 pilot.
In the second heat it was this old faithful Jurgen Wybo who managed to take the holeshot on his lighter 250cc machine. Even though both are not competitors for the championship. Yet Wietse Brackman quickly passed his Leon Sagaert teammate into the lead, a place he would not relinquish. “Wacko Bracko” dominated the race and finished half a minute ahead of Mattis Meersschout. Jurgen Wybo came in third place overall, first 250 pilot and thus scored the double and 50 points!, in fourth place overall and therefore third 500cc pilot, Meor – Bakens Motoren pilot Robin Bakens finished.
For the daily total, this meant that the boys from Xavier Beel were allowed to go home with the largest bouquets of flowers. Wietse Brackman won the overall in the 500cc class with his double series victory, ahead of Mattis Meersschout and Torpjurn van Hoe. With this he scored a full 50 points! Jurgen Wybo won the 250cc class and was twice named the best 250cc pilot. This also scored 50 points, which was 6 points better than Gian Scheele and 10 points better than Bart Klijn. In the International B class, the inevitable Greg Demeulemeester was allowed to climb to the top podium. Greg Demeulemeester came second once “Inter B” and was once flagged as best “Inter B”. These two results were good for 47 points, leaving his competitors for the title Greg Vullers (45 pts) and Stanley Verstraete (37 pts) behind him.
Also nice and extra information, Gino Maes, normally one of our Grand Prix photographers, did not go to the Grand Prix in Teutschenthal, Germany this weekend, but did walk around Oostkamp. You can also expect a nice gallery of this soon!
