KTM introduces new generation of enduro motorcycles
KTM's class-leading EXC series was presented yesterday (May 20) in Bassella, Spain. KTM's enduro motorcycles were radically improved with the introduction of the new 2020 model year generation. KTM's new enduro line is fully READY TO RACE with the addition of these new 2-stroke and 4-stroke machines in the premium KTM SIX DAYS series and the special edition KTM 300 EXC TPI ERZBERGRODEO. All these engines are ready for the most extreme challenges.
These groundbreaking KTM enduros have been developed in collaboration with our heroes from the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team based on their experience on the toughest climbs, the roughest terrain and the deepest mud ruts. The 2020 line-up includes the new KTM 150 EXC TPI model, which is approved for road use to Euro 4 standards, the KTM 250 EXC TPI and KTM 300 EXC TPI 2-strokes, and the KTM 250 EXC F, KTM 350 EXC-F, KTM 450 EXC-F and KTM 500 EXC-F 4-stroke engines.
This series of EXC models from KTM builds on the many technological developments that KTM has integrated into its enduro machines in recent years and therefore contains the latest innovations. The 2020 model year enduros are equipped with new engines, which are both more efficient and very powerful, a redesigned chassis with improved WP XPLOR suspension, improved driving characteristics, new bodywork, a new air filter housing, a new cooling system and new exhaust systems. In combination with the high-quality NEKEN handlebars, the Brembo brakes, the No-Dirt footpegs and the CNC-machined hubs with Giant rims, all installed as standard, these elements ensure that KTM is the best performing with the EXC model year 2020 and most extreme enduro motorcycles on the market.
KTM's iconic SIX DAYS models also offer a premium parts package, making these world-class enduros widely regarded as the best competition motorcycles of the moment. The International Six Days Enduro events have been fully taken into account when designing the SIX DAYS models. These models embody everything that makes enduro sport so popular and, compared to KTM's standard EXC models, are additionally equipped with a wide range of cleverly designed KTM PowerParts.
Furthermore, KTM is proud to announce the ultra-prestigious KTM 300 EXC TPI ERZBERGRODEO motorcycle, limited to 500 units, developed in tribute to the legendary Austrian 'hard enduro' event celebrating its 25th anniversary. The long list of additional READY TO RACE parts and the exclusive graphic design make this special edition the ultimate motorcycle for extreme tours.
“KTM's line of new EXC enduro models is ready for anything. KTM's EXC models must be able to withstand the most extreme conditions, as competitions like the World Enduro Super Series include classic enduro races as well as some of the toughest events in the world. This leading enduro line continues to develop at a rapid pace, thanks to the efforts of our global R&D team, whose members also enjoy riding and therefore understand what our customers want, and of course also thanks to our Factory riders, who put our bikes into challenging ultimate durability tests to the limit. KTM's EXCs for model year 2020 build on a valuable tradition and form a new generation with the latest innovations, suitable for both the novice enduro rider and the experienced professional," says KTM Senior Product Manager Offroad, Joachim Sauer.
To ensure optimal performance of KTM's new line of EXC models, KTM has further expanded its collection of high-quality KTM PowerParts, so riders can customize their machines and continue to push their limits. A variety of motorcycle clothing, protection and casual clothing is also available for KTM enduro fans in the KTM PowerWear collection, so that they are always READY TO RACE, not only while riding, but also before and after.
The engines will be available from June through authorized dealers. For more information, visit www.ktm.com
