Jacobi remains third in the world championship
Under very difficult weather conditions, Henry Jacobi successfully defended his third place in the standings of the FIM MX2 World Championship. The 22-year-old rider also holds the bronze medal after the fifth GP of the season. The best F&H Racing driver on the sand circuit of Mantova was Adam Sterry, the Briton (photo) finished thirteenth in the overall standings. The victory went to Jorge Prado, Thomas Kjer Olsen remains the leader in the standings ahead of Prado and our Kawasaki rider Henry!
1st Round
After a great qualifying session on Saturday afternoon, in which Adam took the lead for almost the entire race and crossed the finish line in second place, the Briton is clearly looking forward to it. However, the circumstances are completely different on this competition day! On Saturday the sun shines wonderfully, but during the night from Saturday to Sunday and on Sunday afternoon there is a lot of precipitation! This makes the circuit very difficult and the start is even more important! The Kawasaki riders go all out in the sprint to the first corner. Things go wrong in that left bend and there is a massive crash involving about ten riders, including both Henry and Adam! Fortunately, both riders can continue their way, but they have a lot of work to do from the backfield from places 28 and 34. While the rain continues to fall, they both fight for every point and with success because Henry crosses the finish line in eleventh, followed by his also a 22-year-old teammate in 12th place!
2st Round
Fortunately, the start of the second round goes better for the South Holland team, who see their riders start the race in the top ten. While Henry quickly manages to enter the top five, Adam makes a mistake and drops back to eighteenth place when completing the first lap. Henry fights with Pootjes for fourth place for almost thirty minutes and the duo even passes the third man Vialle! Then disaster strikes for the driven German who disappears from the race due to clutch failure! Very unfortunate of course, but Henry continues to hold third place in the standings! From eighteenth place, Adam managed to fight his way back to fourteenth place, meaning he managed to get into the points in both heats!
ONK
Roan van de Moosdijk took action on the beautiful circuit of Heerde during a match of the KNMV Open Dutch Championship. The Eindhove native managed to take pole position and subsequently won both heats on the 'Kamperweg'. The competition at MSV NOV Heerde was therefore a good training for the 18-year-old cross rider who was able to delight his mother with a beautiful bouquet of flowers on this Mother's Day!
Next game:
The F&H Racing Team now travels to Portugal for the sixth Grand Prix of the season. This will be held on the beautiful Agueda circuit where the Moordrecht team stood on the podium last year!
