Mixed weekend for Yoran Moens and Lucas Coenen
The first round of the ADAC MX Junior Cup was won by the Latvian Edvards Bidzans, second in the Coupe de l'avenir last year. For the young Belgians Yoran Moens, Lucas and Sacha Coenen, the weekend in Fürstlich Drehna turned out to be mixed.
Many Danes at the start on the German sand circuit and a solid Belgian delegation. In qualifying, Sacha Coenen, Yoran Moens and Lucas Coenen set the 6th, 8th and 12th fastest times respectively. After a bad start, Lucas came back strongly in the first heat and eventually took fifth place from Yoran.
Today Yoran crashed in a bend and came into contact with Lucas Coenen. A double shame because both talents were working on a nice recovery after a poor start. Lucas, who only left 20th, was already seventh after two laps. Despite his fall, the Grizzly Yamaha Junior INDG rider seemed to be in the top 10, but on the penultimate lap he ran out of gas. Moens eventually finished 20th and finished 12th overall. Sacha Coenen performed regularly (14-13). He finished 15th in the final standings, one point behind Yoran.
Next week the best Belgian and Dutch 85cc riders can be seen in Lommel where the second round of the EMX85 North-West region will take place!
