British open IMBA season strongly
Last weekend the first competition in the IMBA MX open class took place in Arleux, France. Just like last year, the British representation started the season strongly. James Dodd took the day's victory with a second and two first places. He did this ahead of compatriot Ashley Thomas who won the first heat and took second place twice. Third place went to the German Pascal Proenen. He managed to keep the British Bradley Tranter and Andy Smart behind him.
Stijn Verstrepen and Glenn Bielen came on behalf of Belgium. Jelle Smeesters and Jeremy Joris in action. With a sixth and eighth place, Verstrepen and Bielen finished in the top ten. Joris took eleventh place and Smeetsers came fifteenth. The Netherlands was represented with six drivers. Niels de Klein managed to finish just within the top ten. Roy Hoeijmakers managed to finish the day in thirteenth place despite a thumb injury. William Thijssen and Demyan van Loon enhanced their IMBA debut with an eighteenth and 24th place.
