BREAKING: Romain Febvre out with broken ankle!
Romain Febvre suffered a serious fracture to his ankle during his heavy crash in the second round of the Argentine GP. This became apparent today from further research at the UZA (Antwerp University Hospital) by orthopedic specialist Dr. Geert Peersman.
In Argentina, the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP rider was given the green light to travel back to Belgium. At home, Febvre still experienced a lot of pain from his severely swollen foot. Dr. Peersman found today that the talus (ankle) is broken in two places. The ex-MXGP world champion will undergo surgery on Tuesday, March 12. The rehabilitation is estimated at six weeks.
