Team presentation MX Friends, Vorselaar
Friends on and off the track. That's what you could call MX Friends, the group of friends around former amateur star David Cools. Born and raised in Vorselaar, the team also introduced itself in that Kempen municipality and here on MXMag of course!
MX Friends originated from a group of friends (strong supporters) of the retired former motocross champion David Cools. David Cools and Herman Verelst (from roofing Verelst from Vorselaar) are the driving forces behind this setup.
The vision/mission of this group of active/passive sports enthusiasts is to promote the sport of motocross in a positive way with friendship as a priority building block!
Herman Verelst (New C VLM)
Herman, one of the driving forces, will play for the Nieuwelingen C in the VLM federation, the aim is mainly to have fun.
Arsene Blyau (Oldtimers twinshocks)
Was asked softly by the woman's mother to hang the helmet on the hook, but the blood is crawling where it can't go. He will compete as an old-age blanket for the vintage twinshocks
Kieron Mols (New MX2 VLM)
Kieron had a difficult start last season, but still managed to get into the spotlight several times. A podium place in the championship should certainly be feasible for the coming season.
Michiel Van Rooy (New A VLM)
New addition who was attracted for his look, the female members also have something to say. Of course he also has his goals and podium places should certainly be achievable for him as well.
Paul Van De Borre (Experts VMCF)
Will defend the team colors again in the VMCF federation. If Paul could get his consistent performance from the bed to the course he would be a championship contender.
Bram Valckx (Inters A 500 VLM)
After a season of doom and gloom with a touch of extra misery, Bram has already started preparing for the coming season and there is no problem with efforts. While waiting for the start of the season, we looked together and he should be able to grow towards the top 5 during the course of the season.
Gianni Joliens (Juniors 250 VLM)
Last season was not a huge success, but Giani has picked up the thread of training and he should certainly be able to drive towards the podium.
Boyd Balder (Juniors 500 VLM)
Already on the championship podium last season in the junior MX2 class, he has moved to the MX1 class and has to compete for that coveted championship title.
Although David Cools himself has hung up his helmet, the energetic coach remains possessed by the MX bug. Mr. Coolspeed is the driving force behind this team. Anyone who knows David knows that he is always 100% committed to whatever he undertakes. Driven, yes, and that is also typical for this group, there is also room for laughter. If an invitation starts with “In the best municipality in the country, with the best mayor,” then you know that the atmosphere is great. “To have fun you need some friends,” that's pretty much the slogan behind MX Friends,” David explains. “Our name speaks for itself. Above all, we are a group of friends who have fun and we share the passion for motocross. Everyone experiences their sport differently and has different goals, but the fun in what we do is paramount.”
“Our second slogan, which is actually linked to the David Cools MX school, is 'Train hard get lucky'. Without the necessary efforts, the set goal will not be achieved. And have you noticed that it is always the same top players who have that little bit of luck? Or is that not luck, but the result of their preparation and training,” says Cools with a wink.
What does the future bring?
How does MX Friends look to the future? “We have indeed already thought about that,” says spokesman Bart Valckx. “Building a little further on the quotes in the previous paragraph, our big challenge is to merge these two associations, MX Friends and David Cools MX school, in the longer term. This way we would support the young talents who are guided in the MX school with the necessary materials. Without our sponsors this would of course not be possible, so we would like to send a very sincere “thank you” to them. See you on or around one of the circuits!”
