Mikkola-Silkolene Racing team presentation
Mikkola's West Flemish motocross team has clearly chosen a different path for 2019. Under the leadership of the Declercq-Bonnet family, no fewer than three national titles were won last year with Mark Boot, Jochem Walckiers and Matteo Puffet. After the riders massively ignored both team organizations last season in Lommel and Axel, no Mikkola organization is planned for 24 for the first time in 2019 years.
A more limited group was proposed for the new season with the intention of working more intensively with the riders. The BMB team is also shifting its activities for the new season because in addition to the Belgian championship and some Dutch Masters of Motocross, the focus is also on the French Haut France championship in Northern France. A photo session was organized at the Axel circuit where sponsor Silkolene once again supplied the necessary lubricants, although the bad weather meant an afternoon without an engine.
No fewer than three riders will compete at the Inters, with defending champion Mark Boot and Kristof Van Vaerenbergh, who will make his inter debut in the new season in the 250 cc class. National champion Jochem Walckiers continues to enjoy confidence in the 500 cc class. He also climbs to the interclass on his Moto 2000-KTM.
Alain Voermans is brought into position at the Nationals. The German-speaking KTM rider is almost part of the team and took an unexpected fourth place in the Belgian Championship last year. That can also be said about Donny Schmidt who competes in the Nnationals 500 cc, while the other riders can be found in the youth classes.
The 125 cc class is high on the wish list with Dailey Van De Ketterij and Colin De Poortere, while newcomer Wouter Dormont is the big question mark on his debut in the Belgian Championship. Dormont is also coming back from a serious shoulder injury, which means that the start of the season may come too early for the East Flemish player. Finally, 85 cc Bryan Maes will also remain present on his Husky and he already showed in Goes that he took strong steps forward during the winter. The Mikkola engines will be started for the first time in Lommel for the first BK test.
Here you will find the complete calendar of the Mikkola-Silkolene Racing pilots.
