Wade, Farres and Graulus join F4E Racing KTM
F4E Racing KTM is proud to announce the complete team composition for 2019. Britain's Eddie Wade and Spaniard Guillem Farres join Mario Lucas in the factory-backed KTM team. Former EMX250 vice-champion Damon Graulus will assist the riders in all aspects of their preparation.
Mario Lucas, the reigning Spanish 125cc champion, will switch to the EMX2019 for 250. The KTM rider scored his first EMX podium in Valkenswaard this year and is determined to continue the upward trend of his first international season. Lucas has already had a positive quarter-litre debut in the Barcelona Supercross where he finished third in the MX2.
Eddie Jay Wade is a 15-year-old talent from Los Gallardos, close to Almeria, Spain. Eddie, who is perfectly bilingual, rides under the British flag and already has an 85cc world title to his name. Estonia's 85 2017cc world champion had a mixed debut year in the EMX125. Yet Wade already showed what he has to offer. His highlight this season was a third place in the opening heat in Teutschenthal. Be sure to keep an eye on 'Sports Billy' because this is a guy with a great future!
Guillem Farres has just completed his first season on the 125cc motorcycle. In the Spanish championship he came second, after champion Mario Lucas, but just ahead of his new teammate Eddie Wade! The protégé of Dakar legend Nani Roma made good progress in 2018. Additional experience and the support of F4E Racing KTM provide Guillem with the ideal springboard to show what he can do this season in the fiercely contested EMX125 championship.
Lucas, Wade and Farres will combine the EMX competitions with the Spanish championship and separate competitions in the Netherlands and Germany. The new look of F4E Racing KTM also includes brand new equipment. From now on you will recognize Eddie, Mario and Guillem by their tight Kini-Red Bull racing clothing.
The arrival of the experienced Damon Graulus as a trainer is an important new step in the development of the team to guide young EMX talent as best as possible. Graulus has national MX2 titles in the Netherlands, Belgium and France to his name. The fast Vossem native is also known for his exemplary physical preparation. Damon will also participate in local competitions himself. The 24-year-old MX1 rider focuses on the Dutch Masters of Motocross and the most important Belgian competitions.
F4E Racing KTM's lineup is complemented for 2019 by a selection of hungry support riders of varying ages and levels. Damon Goyvaerts from Wichelen is aiming for the spectacular EMX2t championship while junior riders Baudoin Detout en Domitie Dehent focus on the popular French beach racing championship. Domitie also leads the women's class in the provisional rankings.
Troy Verburgh en Baptiste Beernaert will start working in the EMX85, supplemented with German and Dutch races. although Travis Verburgh en Louis Beernaert will defend the F4E Racing colors mainly in Belgium, additional competitions are also planned for them in Germany and the Netherlands. Victor Quiniou completes the team's pan-European presence with its participation in the French 125cc Championship.
For its 2019 campaign, F4E Racing KTM can once again count on the support of Purdey Capital and many other loyal partners.
Jimmy Verburgh, team boss: “We have had a very positive first season with two EMX podium finishes and a national title. But we are always working to confirm our development as a team in the longer term. That's why it's very encouraging that we have partners like KTM, Purdey Capital, Kini-Red Bull and so many others who believe in this project. For 2019 we have made many improvements, both large and small, to further strengthen our structure. One of these is of course the addition of a professional trainer, Damon Graulus, to our staff. Going into Europe with Eddie, Mario and Guillem is super exciting. We can't wait for the season to start! “
