HOT NEWS: Stefan Everts is getting better!!
After more than a week full of uncertainty, Stefan Everts (46) and his family see light at the end of the tunnel! The ten-time motocross world champion was struck by a life-threatening malaria attack in the week of December 3. To treat him as best as possible, doctors at UZ Leuven put him in an artificial coma.
However, according to a press release distributed this afternoon, Everts' condition is no longer critical. Stefan still remains in the intensive care unit of the University Hospital in Leuven. He is closely monitored there and only family are allowed.
“The Everts family would like to thank everyone for the many expressions of support and encouraging words. She cannot possibly answer all of these people personally, which is why she does it this way: “A big thank you to everyone for supporting us during this difficult period.”
The family also asks that she be given the necessary rest - just like in recent weeks - so that she can fully concentrate on Stefan. New developments will be communicated with a press release again. Read here the full message on hbvl.be
