HOT NEWS: Tom Vialle to Red Bull KTM!
What has been in the air for some time has been confirmed today by KTM. Tom Vialle will be Jorge Prado's new teammate in the Red Bull KTM factory team in MX2!
The 18-year-old Frenchman came into the spotlight this season with LRT KTM in the EMX250. He won one series, finished in the top 5 5 times and achieved three podiums.
Tom, the son of ex-GP rider Frederic Vialle, will be part of the Red Bull KTM team, which is managed by KTM's motocross manager Joël Smets and MX2 team manager Dirk Gruebel. Vialle will be standing next to Jeffrey Herlings under the tent. Meanwhile, Tom Vialle has already started testing for his new team.
Tom Vialle: “I would like to thank all the people who made this opportunity with Red Bull KTM Factoryy Racing possible. It's fantastic to be able to start my first GP year in MX2 with the best team in the world! It doesn't bother me that I will be standing next to champions like Jeffrey Herlings, Tony Cairoli and Jorge Prado because I know it is a perfect opportunity to learn from the fastest riders. I can't wait to get started and make as much progress as possible.”
Joel Smets, Red Bull KTM Motocross Manager: “We are keeping a close eye on the EMX125 and 250 to see who could be the next exceptional talent like Jeffrey and Jorge have been in recent years. We feel that Tom was one of the riders in the EMX250 that stood out this season. We spent the first two days together and I was convinced that this guy has technical, riding and physical potential. A factory seat ride is just the beginning of the adventure but we are excited about what we could see in 2019 with Tom on our team.”
