Cole Martinez wins the first night in Stuttgart
The first evening of the ADAC Supercross Stuttgart was won by Cole Martinez. The Castrol Power1-MotoWeb rider managed to win the final for Florent Richier and his compatriot Charles Lefrancios. In the SX2 the victory went to France thanks to Thomas Do. The only Lowlander living in the Hans-Martin Schleyer Hall managed to place Nolan Cordens.
When the starting gate goes down for the 20-lap final, Lefrancios gets the best start ahead of Richier and Filip Neugebauer. Last year's winner, Cedric Soubeyras, starts fourth but crashes on the first lap and passes Martinez while Justin Starling crashes over 'Soubs' bike. Lefrancios has the lead for the first half of the race, but then Martinez comes along and takes over the lead after ten laps. Not much later, Richier also manages to pass the fast starter. Richier comes second ahead of Lefrancios who has now been overtaken by Greg Aranda. The former ADAC SX Cup winner ran into problems in the early stages of the final but came back very strongly to the rear wheel of Lefrancios. Aranda has to be satisfied with fourth place ahead of Fabien Iziord.
In the final Do has a great start and takes the lead. Clement Briatte and Lorenzo Camporese follow before Julien Lebeau and Tom Koch. The 20-year-old German wastes no time and manages to work his way to second place in four laps. The gap to leader Do is less than three seconds, but the Frenchman manages to hold the lead until the checkered flag. With the Sarholz-KTM, Koch finished second ahead of Lebeau, who started the race as favorite but made too many small mistakes. Through the last chance, Cordens managed to qualify for the final, where the Belgian managed to score a neat ninth place.
