A few weeks ago, registrations started for the RES Axel 2-hour and 3-hour motocross. An event that is a symbolic ending for many motocross riders to help them enter the winter with a good feeling. This event has established itself as a classic on the calendar over the years.
Year after year, visitors, who have free access to the course, see more and more clean people showing up for the relay motocross. For example, the youth list includes Jago Geerts, who won with Frederik Van Eeckhoven's VePix team in 2013. Frederik also managed to get Youri van 't Ende, now active in the EMX300, and Bo De Clercq. We are not going to claim that this motocross is the gateway to a golden future, but in addition to these pilots, Tallon Verhelst, Rick Elzinga, Scott Smulders, Ryan de Beer, etc. are also on the record of the Youth 2-hour motocross of RES Axel. That's a nice list to which you can add yourself, together with at least one and maximum two friend(s), if you win.
Among adults and their 3-hour motocross, we also see the trend that no cheese can win here. In the debut year, Jurgen Wybo, together with Maarten Govaert and David Vantornhout, won the competition. Since then we have already seen Steve Ramon in the winning trio, Yentel Martens, Marc de Reuver, Dietger Damiaens and Thomas Vermijl have all also been in a winning team at some point. However, the record holders are Ronny van Hove from the EMX300 championship with three victories and Jeffrey Dewulf who has even won four times!
However, it's not just about winning, it's also just a nice way to end the season. A competition in which for once you can form a team with friends who might otherwise be competitors in the other competitions. Everyone at any level is welcome, from Grand Prix and European pilots to seniors. This also applies to the youth teams. Anyone who is looking to go into winter with a nice feeling is welcome.
