Glenn Coldenhoff Belgian Masters 2018 champion
After his victory at the Keiheuvel, Glenn Coldenhoff only needed a second place today to be crowned Belgian Masters of Motocross ahead of Kevin Strijbos. However, the final in Orp-le-Grand went to a very strong Shaun Simpson.
Former Belgian MX1 champion Simpson had to retire in the BK heats settling for third place earlier in the day. In the closing Belgian Masters final there was no limit for the Wilvo-Yamaha MXGP rider!
Shaun Simpson took the holeshot and was able to pull away from the competition. Kevin Strijbos was second, but this time he could not hold off Glenn Coldenhoff. To secure his third place, 'the Kid' had to deal with a strong Harri Kullas in the final phase. There was a huge gap after the Finn as Kevin Fors came in at more than 51 seconds. MX2 pilot Anthony Rodriguez who had dominated the 250cc earlier in the day finished a creditable 6th. Check here the report of the 250cc BK rounds.
Yentel Martens completed a regular Belgian Masters of Motocross campaign and was able to take a seat on the lowest scaffold of the final podium!
