MX2: Prado on pole, Lawrence surprises, Geerts falls.
Also starts during the Swiss Grand Prix Jorge Prado Garcia from pole position. It is the eighth pole of the season for the KTM rider who had to work hard. Hunter Lawrence (photo) showed up very strongly and was even in the lead for a while. A mistake meant that Lawrence had to settle for second place, but he surprised very positively! Thomas Covington comes third, Calvin Flanders comes seventh, Bas Vaessen twelfth, Micha Boy de Waal crosses the finish line in fourteenth ahead of Brent Vandoninck. Iago Geerts crashes in the initial phase and does not reach the finish.
In the 20-minute, two-lap qualifier, Prado-Garcia gets the best start ahead of Covington and Lawrence. The Australian quickly manages to get past the American, but Prado manages to break free from the Honda rider. Halfway through the race, the Spaniard has more than four seconds ahead of Lawrence. Then something goes wrong because Lawrence takes over the lead from the 17-year-old Spaniard. In the eighth laps the 114 Motorsports driver himself makes a mistake when he stalls the engine. Prado-Garcia takes the lead and wins ahead of Lawrence and Covington. In the final phase, the Husqvarna rider still has to fight with Pauls Jonass, who rides a great race. However, the Latvian ends up unlucky with a straggler, causing him to lose the connection. Jonass comes fourth ahead of Thomas Kjer Olsen.
