MX2: Prado hits back with his ninth GP victory.
The first heat was won by Pauls Jonass, but later in the afternoon most of the points went to Jorge Prado. The Spaniard not only wins the second round but also takes his ninth GP victory of the season. The difference between the KTM riders with four races to go remains 28 points. Jonass (1-2) finished second at the Frauenfeld circuit ahead of Hunter Lawrence (5-3). The first heat did not go well for Calvin Vlaanderen who did not finish, this heat the Dog rider finished fourth! With eleventh place, Brent Vandoninck now remains just outside the top ten. Bas Vaessen is now twelfth and Micha Boy de Waal takes the last point by finishing twentieth.

For the twentieth time this year, Prado wins the FOX Holeshot Award for Jonass and Anthony Rodriguez. The Venezuelan briefly mixes with the KTM riders, but Jonass quickly returns. After fifteen minutes of the match, leader Prado makes a mistake, allowing Jonass to take the lead. The Spaniard does not give up, but a mistake in the final phase gives Jonass some space in the last two laps. The Latvian wins ahead of his KTM colleague and Thomas Covington. The American managed to decide a fierce battle with Rodriguez in his favor. Hunter Lawrence finished fifth while his Honda colleague Calvin Vlaanderen did not finish. Bas Vaessen finished 22nd after a pit stop, while Micha Boy de Waal did not finish. The best Laaglander is Brent Vandoninck, the Husqvarna rider finished 16th.

Prado also wins the sprint to the first corner in the second heat and takes the lead ahead of Ben Watson, Jonass and Stephane Rubini. The Frenchman from Team Silveraction-KTM manages to briefly relegate Jonass to fourth place, but the Latvian comes back. Prado has more than a three-second lead over Jonass at the end of the first lap. The winner of the first heat cannot keep up with the pace of the leader and the difference increases to more than seven seconds! With ten minutes to go, Jonass manages to set faster lap times and little by little the reigning champion comes closer. The tension rises, but just before the connection is actually made, Jonasse makes a mistake. Fortunately, he manages to avoid a crash, but Prado manages to gain enough lead to prevail. Jonass comes second ahead of Lawrence, Flanders and Thomas Kjer Olsen. Vandoninck finishes eleventh ahead of Vaessen and De Waal takes the last point of this heat by crossing the finish line in twentieth.
