MX2: Prado takes over the lead from Jonass!
After fourteen Grand Prix, the FIM MX2 World Championship has a new leader. Jorge Prado Garcia won the Czech GP at the Loket circuit. The Spaniard from Claudio De Carli's team has the lead in the standings. The 17-year-old Prado finished third and first this weekend, which gave him another GP victory. Calvin Vlaanderen (1-3) is second Thomas Covington (2-2). Pauls jonass loses the lead in the standings to his KTM colleague. Iago Geerts is doing well again this weekend, the Yamaha rider finished ninth in both heats.

Despite his inferior starting position, Prado makes the best start and wins his 16th FOX Holeshot Award. Not a good start for Jonass who comes out of the first corner narrowly in the top ten. The Latvian managed to work his way up to sixth place in the first full lap and when Henry Jacobi made a mistake, the KTM rider already entered the top five. In the third laps Covington takes the lead from Prado while Flanders takes third place from Michele Cervellin. The Honda rider manages to drive his way to the duo in the lead and is able to catch up with them one by one. After almost 25 minutes of the match, Flanders takes the lead and wins. Prado is hunted by Jonass and Hunter Lawrence. This means that Covington still has to work hard in the final phase, but nothing more happens, Covington comes second ahead of Prado, Jonass and Lawrence. Thomas Kjer Olsen fell in the first corner but he comes back to seventh place. Geerts finished ninth, Vaessen finished thirteenth ahead of Vandoninck (16th) and De Waal (17th).

FOX Holeshot Award also wins the second round, followed by Jacobi, Covington, Kjer Olsen and Maxime Renaux. While the Spaniard is in the lead, Jacobi and Covington duel. It is a fierce battle that is decided in the American's favor. Jonass is in a hurry because the Latvian manages to work his way to third place in just two laps. Later, Jacobi also sees 'TKO' and Flanders pass. The 22-year-old Honda rider has good speed and he knows how to connect with Jonass. Despite the strong resistance of the Jonass, Flanders managed to take over third place. In the last five minutes of this heat it becomes even more exciting as Covington tries to connect with Prado while Kjer Olsen increases the pressure on Jonass! Where the Dane succeeds in his aim, the American from Jacky Martens' team does not succeed. Prado wins ahead of Covington, Flanders, Kjer Olsen and Jonass! Another ninth place for Geerts, making him the best Laaglander. Vandoncink (12th) and De Waal (16th) also managed to get into the points in this round.

In two weeks the FIM MX2 World Championship will come to Belgium for the tough sand circuit at the Lommel circuit!
