GP Limburg honors Eric Geboers
Just under three months before the GP of Limburg Eric Geboers tragically died. A farewell moment was afterwards organized at the Lommel circuit especially for his many fans and everyone who had touched 'The Kid' during his life. Geboers himself was the organizer of the Belgian GP for many years, first in Namur and later in Lommel.
The GP of Limburg, which will take place in Lommel on August 4 and 5, will pay tribute to the five-time world champion and the very first world champion in the three categories in various ways. For example, the well-known “Mr. 875” logo appears on the various entrance bands and on the T-shirts of the employees.
Various banners that were used to mark the farewell moment after Eric's death will now also be given a nice place. A special page will also be provided in the program booklet to commemorate Eric Geboers. “We definitely want to schedule a time for Sunday when we want to pay our respects to Eric. We would like to keep in mind what exactly that will look like. Eric also liked surprises,” smiles Jo De Munck, one of the driving forces behind GP Limburg vzw.
