EMX250: Clarke surprises Vialle on the last lap!
The first round of the fifth EMX250 was won by Steven Clarke. The Brit manages to take the lead from Tom Vialle in the last lap. The British can also cheer for Josh Spinks, who crosses the finish line third in a great race as the sun slowly disappears behind the horizon. Unfortunately, little success for the Laaglanders, after a good qualification Roan van de Moosdijk runs into problems in the initial phase of the race. Unfortunately, the Yamaha rider does not score. The Belgian Cyril Genot does that, he crosses the finish line in sixteenth and thus takes five points.
The best start goes to Michael Sandner and he manages to hold the lead for the first half of the race. A small mistake allows Vialle to connect and the Austrian's next mistake gives the Frenchman the lead. Clarke immediately puts pressure on the fast starter, but Sandner does not easily give in. When the Carglass Honda rider is given space, he manages to close the gap on Vialle and strike on the final lap. Clarke wins ahead of Vialle and Spink who manages to pass Sandner on the last lap. Completing the top five is Mathys Boisrame ahead of REVO Husqvarna duo Mel Pocock and Martin Barr who will compete for the 'Redplate'.
