EMX: Lapucci wins, Barr the new leader!
After three races, the European 250cc Championship has a new leader. Martin Barr takes the lead from teammate Mell Pocock. Former GP rider Barr only finished fifth in Orlyonok but is the new leader in the EMX250 standings. The race in Russia was won by Nicholas Lapucci (3-1) ahead of Carglass Honda Racing rider Steven Clarke (10-1) and Dylan Walsh (4-4). After the heavy crash in the first moto, Roan van de Moosdijk still scores, the Brabander finishes ninth. The last point during this heat goes to Freek van der Vlist.
Just like in the first heat, Gianluca Facchetti takes the best start, he is followed by Dylan Walsh and Clarke! The Italian has to quickly bow to his pursuers and Walsh manages to hold the lead for almost 15 minutes. Dan arrives and the former champion takes control. After losing his points in the first heat, Mell Pocock was eager for revenge and he increased the pressure on Walsh. However, the numbers go wrong and Pocock loses a lot of time and places. Lapucci connects with Walsh and the Italian can take over second place with two laps to go. In the final round the Team Diga Procross rider loses third place to Maxime Renaux, but just like last year, Walsh is on the podium here. Alberto Forato completes the top five, so both Dutchmen now score points while no Belgians take action
