Yentel Martens unapproachable in VLM Reusel
For the sixth round of the Inters championship, VLM crossed the border to the MC De Wielewaal circuit in Reusel. The location did not matter to guest rider Yentel Martens because he also convincingly controlled the organization of MC De Molse Rakkers. Greg Smets (2-3) held off Dietger Damiaens (4-2) for second place.
Today in Reusel there were championship classes for Newcomers 500 A, Newcomers Open C; Masters, Juniors Open, Nationals Open and Inters Open on the programme!
The first Inters round was started by pole sitter Yentel martens for Kenny Janssens, Greg Smets and Jens Van Meer. The Rockstar Energy Husqvarna pilot then turned it into a one-man show. Martens led from start to finish. Behind him the differences in the battle for second place were minimal! Smets finished second Wouter Van Massenhoven and Damiaens, the three crackers finished in the proverbial handkerchief of 6,5 seconds… Championship leader Van Meer finished fifth. In the 250cc class Dieter VromansDespite a poor start, Jonathan Banken's match, even more so after a very close duel, the former Belgian MX2 champion had to leave second place to the experienced Sven Breugelmans.
During the qualifications, Martens was no less than 3,250 seconds faster than Jens Van Meer. More than an indication because Y-Man also confirmed his hegemony in the second race and won with a lead of 36 seconds. The battle behind Yentel was not only a matter of honor but also revolved around championship points. Dietger Damiaens got off to an excellent start and eventually got the upper hand over Smets and Van Meer. As is often the case, a regular Van Massenhoven had to come back after a mediocre start, but the BeTeMo rider did an excellent job. After his fourth place in the standings, Wouter jumps over Kenny Janssens in the championship. He now follows in second place with 47 points behind Van Meer.
Although Jonathan Banken and Dieter Vromans kept each other in balance, the better second heat of the Taxi Marcel rider was the deciding factor. This time was a motivated one Rob Kings second, especially his first round made a big impression! In the 250cc championship, Dieter moves up to second place at the expense of Jelle Verbruggen.
