James Scott's promising debut in Mill
For the third round of the Dutch Masters of Motocross, the championship went to Circuit Park “De Kuilen” in Mill. The track lived up to its name because the former GP circuit was tough. Although it was a solid day for F4E Racing, the icing on the cake was missing. James Scott and Wannes van de Voorde finished eighth and thirteenth respectively yesterday.
F4E Racing appeared with an unreleased line-up in Mill. Kjell Verbruggen is struggling with a painful knee and unfortunately had to miss the Dutch Masters of Motocross confrontation. Unlike the previous rounds, none Mario Lucas. The young Spaniard did attract attention in his own country. Mario won two weeks ago in Bellpuig and was the strongest in Talavera yesterday in the Spanish championship!
Left in the time training James Scott and Wannes van de Voorde print the tenth and seventeenth periods. Wannes made a decent start in the first moto but was unable to avoid a fallen rider in front of him. After the fall, the Belgian champion lost his rhythm and was too slow to get back up to speed. Teammate Scott also had little luck in the opener. Started poorly, the New Zealand promise came back well but then collapsed. A second crash sealed the fate of the brand new F4E Racing driver who had to settle for fourteenth place.
The second series was literally started by the F4E boys! Scott sent his KTM 125 SX to the holeshot, van de Voorde was second at the start. Wannes van de Voorde went on the attack but fell in loose sand. Ultimately he would come back from fifteenth to ninth place. To everyone's surprise, James held on for laps as second behind leader Weckman. In the second half of the match, Ben Townley's pupil encountered the man with the hammer. Scott had to give up ground and in the end he finished fifth.
This weekend, F4E Racing will compete in the MXGP of Latvia where the third round of the EMX125 championship will be held.
Wannes Van De Voorde: “It was a changeable day. I think there definitely could have been more. Because I couldn't find my way in the time training, I didn't have the best starting place. Still, I had a pretty good start, but it's a shame about my early fall. After that it was difficult for me to get back on track. In the second series I had a great start! I was fighting for the lead at the front, but on the outside of the track I ended up in loose sand and fell. Fortunately, I was now getting into a better rhythm, although I suffered from some sore arms. The positive thing is that the condition is good, so I'm looking forward to Kegums next weekend!”
James Scott: “The track was very difficult, a sand track like that is something I am not used to! I must admit that the first heat also hit me hard. It certainly wasn't good, but it wasn't bad either. At least in general because the first race was one to quickly forget. I crashed twice and more than those 14de there was no room. My speed wasn't bad in the second moto, although it did help that I took the holeshot. Because I have only been riding the bike for four weeks, I am currently lagging behind physically. I felt that very much towards the end. I was really devastated. It is now very clear what I need to work on.”
