2019 KTM enduros presented!
As usual, KTM presented its enduro line-up for the 2019 model year early. Last year, the Austrian manufacturer unleashed a small revolution by launching the 250 EXC TPI and the 300 EXC TPI, the first series-produced engines with an injected two-stroke engine. For 2019, KTM chooses evolution instead of revolution.
The TPI technology also gave KTM the guarantee that two-stroke enduro machines will remain on sale for a while longer.
Even in 2019, their second model year, both injected two-stroke models remain the eye-catchers in KTM's line-up. The 250 EXC TPI and 300 EXC TPI are complemented by four different four-strokes: the 250 EXC-F, the 350 EXC, the 450 EXC and finally the 500 EXC.
In addition, KTM also builds two smaller two-stroke models, the 125 XC-W and the 150 XC-W. However, both machines are only suitable for competition on closed circuits and will be used for 'cross countries' in countries such as Australia, Canada and the United States. However, this discipline is also becoming increasingly popular in Europe.
What's new about KTM's 2019 enduro models?
KTM says its R&D department never rests, so the machines have been further refined for the 2019 model year. This was done with an improved adjustment for the WP front forks and a revised WP shock absorber. The shock absorber piston was redesigned, while the settings were further refined. The evolution of the suspension elements should give the rider more confidence. Furthermore, every KTM enduro also received a stronger battery.
The KTM 2019 models also changed visually compared to their predecessors. They received new graphics, but perhaps the most striking change is that the tubular steel frame - which until now was painted black - is now orange. The latter should enhance the 'Ready To Race' look of the machines.
As we have come to expect from KTM, the enduro machines are also being finished with quality components for the 2019 model year. Brembo is responsible for the brakes, Neken for the handlebars and the KTMs are also equipped with No-Dirt footpegs. As their name suggests, the latter are designed to be protected from caked-on mud or sand. The black wheels are purchased from bicycle giant Giant and are equipped with CNC-made axles.
The 2019 KTM enduro models will be available at dealers in the Netherlands and Belgium during June.
