End of season for Nicky van Wordrageren
This is a bitter pill for Nicky because her season is already over. Nicky thanks all the people who helped her in her preparation for the season to get off to the start as strong as possible in Italy. When there is more news about her rehabilitation we will inform you.
Nicky Van Wordrageren: “As many already know, I had an unfortunate hard fall yesterday at the start during the first round of the World Cup in Italy. I tore my anterior cruciate ligament. On Saturday afternoon/evening I had the knee taped and we adjusted my Cti brace so that it could stretch less far. At the medical center I received approval on Sunday morning to ride the second round. We first tried it on the test track and soon the knee went wrong again with a lot of pain, as if it came out of the socket and immediately came back again. As shitty as it is, we all immediately understood that there was no point in starting at all!
The season ended badly last year and has now started badly. Unfortunately, this is also part of how much time, money and energy you put into it, it can be over before it has even started and that hurts more mentally than physically. But we have to move on now. I would like to thank everyone for the kind messages and support, supporters and sponsors.”
