JM Racing extends contract with Husqvarna Motorcycles
The musical chairs not only apply to which pilots will drive where, but also which team will appear at the start with which engine. JM Racing recently extended their contract with Husqvarna for two years, thus offering the necessary security to remain a permanent fixture in the MX2 World Championship for the next two seasons.
JM Racing will also serve as the official Husqvarna MX2018 team in 19 and 2. Husqvarna recently announced this. Husqvarna managed to capture no fewer than 6 series victories and a total of 3 GP victories with the JM Racing team, which will also set the bar high for the team when Thomas Kjer-Olsen and Thomas Covington resolutely go for the title in the MX2 World Championship.
Diego Clement – Head of Motorsport at Husqvarna Motorcycles: Husqvarna Motorcycles is very pleased to continue their partnership with Jacky and his team. Under Jacky's tutelage, the results of the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing pilots have been very positive, and we are already looking forward to more of this in the coming years. The way the team is functioning only gives us confidence for the years to come, and assures us that Husqvarna will be represented in the MX2 World Championship in a professional manner and with a good chance of success.
Jacky Martens- Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing MX2 team manager: It is a great honor for us to run the official Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing MX2 team, and to continue our great partnership with Husqvarna Motorcycles in this way. Last season was one with many highlights and victories, with which our pilots showed a lot of fighting spirit until the end of a long and grueling season. With Kjer-Olsen ultimately third in the MX2 World Championship followed by Covington in fourth position, we are already looking forward to seeing them fight for even more victories next year. With these two pilots in our team, we are convinced that we can take a shot at the MX2018 world title in 2.
