Belgium wins in 65cc Coupe de L'Avenir, France wins overall
Unlike the races elsewhere in the country, the Coupe de l'Avenir was spared from rain today. As expected, the Belgian delegation was slightly too weak for the overall victory. Just like with the big men, France won. Spain finished second. Still, the guys from Robert Gielis' 65cc team for a scoop! Under the impetus of Sacha and Lucas Coenen, Team Belgium took the overall victory in this class.
Thanks to the participation of 14 countries, the beautifully decorated track and the youthful enthusiasm of the participants, the Coupe de l'Avenir continues to grow (again) into one of the important appointments on the international youth calendar. Quite an achievement that the organizing AMC Hauts-Pays can be absolutely proud of.
As for the individual result, 65cc star pilot Sacha Coenen (2-2) ultimately had to give up on the British Wal Beaney who won both series. Lucas Coenen (9-8) finished 8th overall, Troy Verburgh finished 28th (23-31). Congratulations guys, great work, bravo!

Josh Gilbert individual Open winner
Since the Open class traditionally has the most renowned drivers, Jago Geerts' home race was eagerly awaited. Jago rode a solid race but made too many mistakes to take control. In the open class, the British Josh Gilbert, winner of the first two heats, shows the strongest ahead of a regular Hardi Roosiorg and Karel Kutsar, winner of the final heat. Geerts ultimately finished fourth in the individual standings. The strong Estonian team took the overall victory thanks to Kutsar and Roosiorg. It was a learning year for the Belgians with Tim Louis in 20th and Wannes Van de Voorde in 35th. Belgium finished fifth in the country rankings this year.

85cc: Florian Miot wins, Avo Tack a nice 6th
In the Junior World Championship, Florian Miot just missed the podium. In Baisieux it was a success for the young Frenchman! The Motoblouz-KTM pilot held off the German Simon Längenfelder (2-3-1) and the Spaniard Davide Braceras (3-2-2) thanks to a 1-4-3 score. From the Belgian side, Avo Tack took off his 85cc in style. With the number one on his number plate, he finished sixth overall. His teammates Robbe Daniëls and Yoran Moens finished fifteenth and twenty-fourth respectively. Spain won the national championship here ahead of France and Germany. Belgium came fifth.
