James Dunn first ever two-stroke winner in EMX250
Since this season, Youthstream has also allowed 250cc two-stroke motorcycles to participate in the EMX250. Many riders remained loyal to the usual 250 four-stroke, but James Dunn (who made a guest appearance in the EMX250 this weekend) made history this weekend by winning the last race of the EMX250 on a two-stroke KTM under difficult circumstances.
During race one, Dunn rode to a good second place behind the American Charboneau, who was unable to extend his strong first race to race two, and thus narrowly missed out on the podium.
In Race two, the course was completely transformed into a large mud puddle due to heavy rain. To make matters worse, Dunn also got off to a poor start and even had to start the race from last position. However, Dunn handled this situation well and steadily worked his way up to a good fourth place. Ultimately, Dunn was even given a place after race leader Morgan Lesiardo got stuck on the last lap, missing out on the series victory.
James Dunn ultimately managed to collect the most points in the overall result with a second and third place, ahead of Simone Zecchina (5+2) and the French home rider Anthony Bourdon (12+1). Who was able to complete the podium thanks to his victory in series two.
