Blake Baggett is now also winning in High Point
After last weekend Blake Baggett took his first ever 450MX win in Thunder Valley. The Rocky Mountain ATV/MC-KTM-WPS Team rider was now also the strongest rider in the fourth round of the AMA Lucas Oil Motocross Championship in High Point. Baggett needed a series win and a second place to take his second overall win and thus become the new leader in the 450MX class standings.
After Blake Baggett, Jason Anderson (5-3) and Broc Tickle (4-4) also joined the podium in High Point. For the two title candidates Tomac-Musquin, the passage on the High Point Raceway circuit was not a great success. Monster Energy Kawasaki rider Eli Tomac did not get further than 12th in the first series, but did take victory in the second series. For Red Bull KTM rider Marvin Musquin, the weekend already started with doubts because the Frenchman injured his knee last week (torn meniscus) and did not get further than a 16th and 6th place in the series in the race.
In the 250MX class, victory went to Geico Honda rider Jeremy Martin (#6) who took his first win of the season with a second place and a series win. Second place went to Rockstar Energy Husqvarna rider Zach Osborne who won the opening heat and finished second in the reprise. Aaron Plessinger took third place twice and finished third in this fourth round of the championship. Frenchman Dylan Ferrandis finished fourth twice, which put him just off the podium. In the standings, Zach Osborne continues to hold the leading position ahead of the brothers Jeremy Martin and Alex Martin.
