U Arena catapults SX Paris into the future!
After three editions in Lille, Supercross Paris returns to the French capital. Although no names have been announced for this edition yet, the first superstar is already known: the stadium itself. The U Arena in modern La Defense is not yet completely finished, but the Supercross will be one of the first shows!
Anyone who went to the Supercross in Bercy in the 80s or 90s will certainly remember the atmosphere and glamor that surrounded the futuristic stadium. The driving forces behind the SX of Bercy Xavier Adouard and Eric Peronnard are determined to bring back that unique ambiance.
Adouard and Peronnard are of course not the first ones. Bercy was the pioneer at the time to package (motor) sports and shows in a way that no one had seen before. Lasers, music, handsome cheerleaders, crazy costumes, planes lowered from the ceiling, Freestyle motocross... Bercy simply had to be experienced! Peronnard has produced supercross competitions around the world and wowed Americans with his US Open in Las Vegas. We have a feeling that this Supercross Paris on November 18 and 19 will also be very special.
– Supercross in one of the most important capitals in the world
– Top riders in SX and FMX
– Capacity of 24.000 spectators
– Excellent visibility with steep stands that put you closer to the action… Just like in Bercy!
– Ultra-modern stadium with every comfort
– Breathtaking projections
– Perfectly accessible by public transport
You can give an indoor motocross or you can put on a show. The U Arena will be the home of the Racing 92 rugby club, but the stadium itself was conceived as a multifunctional sports and show temple. If that sounds familiar, it's no coincidence because Bercy also had the same calling! A few weeks before the 'Paris Supercross', the Rolling Stones can give their very first concert. Anyway, the first three concerts because the Stones wouldn't be the Stones if they didn't go big.
Not every stadium owner is - understandably - eager to welcome a supercross. The excellent reputation of the Supercross Paris and the personal contacts with the management of the U Arena make this possible. Coincidentally, the stadium director is the same one with whom the Supercross worked for a long time in Bercy! And the fact that a supercross shows that absolutely any event is possible in his stadium did not fall on deaf ears to U Arena owner Jacky Lorenzetti. We are also very happy with that. For many of us, an American SX will remain a distant and expensive dream... The Paris Supercross, on the other hand, takes place just an hour and a half by Thalys from Brussels, or just over 3 hours from Amsterdam.
