Jaap Corneth (24MX Honda) out of contention
Jaap Corneth (21) suffered an unfortunate fall during the ADAC MX Masters competition in Jauer, Germany. The 24MX Honda rider broke the middle finger of his left hand. It is expected to take six weeks before Jaap can drive again.
Due to Corneth's absence in Latvia and the next GPs, the team is now looking for a replacement. The fall is very inconvenient for the former Dutch 125cc champion. Jaap just returned from injury after a crash in Qatar during the first MXGP race of the season.
Jaap Corneth: “During the time training in Jauer the rear engine broke, then I lost it. I immediately felt that something was wrong with my hand, that feeling was later confirmed. My left hand is currently still in a cast up to the elbow, but next week I will get a smaller cast and fortunately I will be able to cycle again so that I can continue to train physically. Because I have no competition rhythm at all when I can get back on the bike in six weeks, I first want to build up well before I start again in the World Championship.”
In any case, we wish Jaap a speedy recovery!
