Preview BK Motocross Moerbeke!
This Sunday, MC Scheldeland will get the BMB season underway with the first race of the 2017 Motorcross Championships in Moerbeke-Waas, East Flanders. Both solos and sidecars are on the program. This is the first competition that will follow the new formula. Due to the cancellations in the MCLB and the VMCF, additional riders and more spectators will probably come to Moerbeke-Waas!
As can be seen from the images of the construction in the gallery below, the soil in Moerbeke has been well preserved. So we don't have to talk about the state of the circulation. Especially because the weather forecasts are quite favorable!
The opening match of the BMB is also the first according to a new timetable. You can find the complete breakdown per class here. All drivers first complete a free training session of 7 minutes on Sunday. This is immediately followed by a timed 10-minute session. All races will be held over 20 minutes and 1 lap. This means there is more riding opportunity for the riders!
New formula classification categories
The other important change concerns the class division where the various categories are divided according to their engine capacity, MX1 or MX2, which was also a request from the riders. On Sunday there will be training and competitions for the Cup MX2 (seniors, experts, juniors), Cup MX1 (seniors, experts, juniors), MX2 (nationals and inters), MX1 (nationals and inters), Cup 125 (under 125 and nationals 50). ), youth and sidecars. Another interesting novelty is the introduction of the holeshot premium. The fastest starter of the first series can win an additional premium of EUR XNUMX.
There is no complete list of participants for the Inters in Moerbeke-Waas. It also remains to be seen how many of the top players from the MCLB and VMCF will make their appearance in the Belgian Championship! We do know that we Ken Dycker (Suzuki Van Boom) as favorite. He will compete against, among others, Cedric Grobben and also Jeffrey Dewulf en Robin Bakens. In the MX2 there are Sahkar-KTM riders Iago Geerts en Hardi Roosiorg, winner of the ONK in Heerde last week, registered. For the 85cc class, we will mainly have to watch out for the Suzuki duo Jett Lawrence en Liam Evert.
Running a race in front of your own people is always fun. We are therefore curious about the home races of Tallon Verhelst from Lokeren, Dean Van Clapdorp (Sint-Niklaas) and Bo De Clercq (Waarschoot). We also expect some top players from the sidecars for their first BC competition. Now that Ben Adriaenssen and Jan Hendrickx have ended their careers, we can look forward to the achievements of our other compatriots, including Jason Vandaele en Marvin Vanluchene.
