Is James Stewart's career over?!
In America it remains eerily quiet around James 'Bubba' Stewart. The former outdoor and supercross champion has had a turbulent trajectory in recent years. For example, he was suspended for doping. When he was allowed to return to competition, he took part in the Paris-Lille Supercross. But something went wrong on the first day and he injured himself. He then prepared for Anaheim1 where it seemed for a while that he could compete with the top, until a brush with Ryan Dungey decided otherwise.
The 'Seven' was knocked out and remained out of competition for a while and after his return we didn't even see a single flash of the real James Stewart. Meanwhile, the first African-American motocross champion became a father. Was the disastrous year of 2016 and the additional injuries in combination with fatherhood the click that made JS7 decide to throw in the towel? Or will we see him, as some rumors claim, in Anaheim on a Honda as a private pilot supported by a big sponsor from outside the motocross environment? Time will have to tell. What we do know is that 'Bubba' is not on the list of participants for the 'Red Bull Straight Rhythm', an event that he has already won twice and that will take place this weekend.
