Townley out for the rest of the season!!!
Suzuki World MXGP rider Ben Townley has been ruled out of the final six races of the 2016 FIM World Championship MXGP. The New Zealander crashed this week during training in Mantova, Italy, where the Suzuki team stayed a little longer to do some testing.
Upon arrival in Belgium, he was immediately admitted to the hospital in Hasselt, where an intestinal injury was discovered during the examinations. As a result, a long rehabilitation time is expected and the former world champion will no longer take action in the Grand Prix's. this season.
Stefan Everts: “We therefore feel terribly sorry for Ben, who has worked hard and done everything we asked to be able to compete at this level. He has had an incredible amount of bad luck this year. Together we felt that we had come to a point to have a strong end to the season. But now it is important that Ben can make a full recovery and he will receive our full support and wish him a speedy recovery.”
