No RV2 in Spanish Grand Prix…
Ryan Villopoto will also miss the Spanish Grand Prix, the KRT Monster Energy Kawasaki team announced in a press release. According to our colleagues from the British website 'MxVice', the American is currently in America with his trainer Aldon Baker. This is officially to fully recharge and return fully fit and sharp. Because that's how it goes: To win Grand Prix victories you have to be 100%.
But the fact that the man with the impressive American record has returned to America automatically fuels rumors that the Grand Prix in Italy was his last ever. There has already been mention of a Ryan Villopoto who might make a switch between the Grand Prix circus and the AMA Outdoor season. The AMA Outdoor season starting in Hangtown on May 16.
So we have to wait and see what will happen next. It wouldn't really be illogical if Ryan Villopoto just needed a little more time to heal the irritating tailbone injury. In addition, people prefer to rest in a familiar environment, and that is of course the Aldon Baker training facility for Ryan Villopoto. It is his former home, and it can and will give the multiple champion peace of mind to be able to stay there until the Grand Prix of Great Britain, on May 23 and 24.
