The crazy transfer mill 2015: Paulin & Husqvarna?
I personally think it is one of the best times of the season. The transfer time. Who is talking to whom… What if this and that is correct, what about that… But it is also a difficult time for us. We don't want to offend anyone, step on anyone's toes, and avoid bullshit and emails. It is a dance on a tightrope that we try to perform as conscientiously as possible.
Now that said, let's start with a fact that just came out of nowhere. Ever since their switch to KTM, the 'Ice One Racing' team has made no secret of the fact that they want to compete for podiums and preferably even world titles in a short time. The team was further boosted by their upgrade from a KTM satellite team to a Husqvarna factory team. In the 2014 transfer period, the team gambled on a top Australian and a struggling world champion in America. A gamble with a mixed outcome. Todd Waters had a fantastic rookie season in the MXGP class until his injury. Tyla Rattray, on the other hand, seems to lack confidence on the bike and seems to be heading for a very weak season marked by a lot of injuries.
The reports that are coming through are that the Ice One Husqvarna team is very satisfied with Todd Waters and that he could probably count on a seat with the team again next year. This is no longer in the company of the South African Tyla Rattray, but in that of Gautier Paulin, or so they say. The Frenchman has reached the end of his contract with KRT Kawasaki and is therefore the only top player from Europe who is without a contract in this transfer period. That also makes him the most sought-after pilot. So we have to wait and see what these rumors will yield in 2015 if true...
