James Stewart wins SX of Atlanta!!!
After last weekend's bad luck in Dallas where he couldn't even start in the final. James Stewart took his very first win of the season in Atlanta. This is a huge boost for both the Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Team and James Stewart. Stewart left Ryan Villopoto and Davi Millsaps behind in the Main Event. In the Lites it was Wil Hahn who took his very first SX victory.
SX450
It was James Stewart who took the holeshot ahead of Ryan Villopoto and Jake Weimer. Davi Millsaps had started sixth but moved up to fourth place after just a few laps. After about five laps it was still Stewart ahead of Villopoto, but the difference was less than two seconds between the two ex-champions. In third place we got Millsaps ahead of Barcia, Canard and Dungey. We only got Chad Reed in eleventh place. Eli Tomac who also started in Atlanta on a 450. Didn't do too badly, he started twelfth and was already in eighth place halfway through the Main Event. Tomac would eventually finish in seventh place. At the front, James Stewart kept his cool and kept Ryan Villopoto behind him. Villopoto was within two seconds behind Stewart throughout the Main Event, but was unable to really launch an attack. So it was a nice start-finish victory for James Stewart and the Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Team. The leader in the standings Davi Millsaps, who rode a home race in Atlanta, took the third podium place.
James Stewart : “I had been struggling all day, but now I took the holeshot in the Main Event. I don't remember the last time I won an SX competition. Last weekend with that bad luck I couldn't even start in the Main Event in Dallas. But this victory is really great.”

SX250 East Coast Lites
Wil Hahn took the holeshot ahead of Dean Wilson and Justin Hill. Marvin Musquin had more luck at the start this time and was immediately in fifth place. After three laps, Musquin had already passed his predecessor Hill and Wharton and was in third place. Halfway through the Main Event, Wil Hahn already has a lead of 2,5 seconds over Wilson. Musquin follows in third place ahead of Wharton, Martin, Faith and Hill. Wil Hahn can take his very first Supercross victory here in Atlanta. In the very last laps Wilson makes some progress, but Wil Hahn is the first to be flagged and thus wins his first supercross at the lites in his career. Marvin Musquin finished third ahead of Wharton and Martin.
Wil Hahn : “I knew I could do it and it had been coming for a long time. I have been riding with Honda for a long time and this is a great moment to give something back to the team. I wish my mother was here now, I will see you again soon and I love you…”
