Justin Barcia takes first victory in the SX-Class, Tomac wins the Lites in SX Phoenix…
Rookie Justin Barcia has already won his very first Supercross victory with the big boys. In Phoenix, Barcia defeated two-time champion Ryan Villopoto and the winner of the first match in Anaheim Davi Millsaps. In the Lites class it was again Eli Tomac who took the victory ahead of Ken Roczen and Martin Davalos.
450SX Class
It was Barcia who took the holeshot in the final ahead of Davi Millsaps and Chad Reed. Ryan Villopoto was also in good shape in fourth, but made a small mistake and fell back to eighth place. In the first half of the final, the places remained virtually unchanged and it was only Villopoto who came close to the top. With seven laps to go, Villopoto passed Chad Reed and took Millsaps a lap later. Trey Canard had also already moved up to second place. The Muscle Milk Honda Team was in good shape with Barcia in first place and Canard in second place. But Ryan Villopoto thought differently and put pressure on second man Canard. As a result, Trey Canard made a mistake on the very last lap and dropped to fifth place. Barcia thus won the final ahead of Villopoto and Millsaps.
