Preview Radson Trophy Kester
Since the first organization on the Kesterheide in 1974, more than 400.000 sports enthusiasts have traveled to Kester Gooik. You have to earn that many customers and the organizing AMC De Toekomst understands that perfectly! Flanders' most beautiful natural motocross circuit and a versatile top program make the 2012 edition of the motocross in Kester an absolute must. In addition to the Open BK, BK MX2 and the usual secondary classes, sidecars and quads will also be in action.
Great tenors in Radson Trophy
Except BK leader Ken Dycker (Red Bull-KTM), the Honda and Suzuki factory riders are also coming Rui Gonçalves en Tanel Leok, the KTM trio Jeffrey Herlings, Jeremy Van Horebeek en David Guarneri and none other than Josh Coppins at the start! Furthermore, all sub-toppers are also at the start: the Dutch MX1 champion Herjan Brakke, Yentel Martens, Marvin Van Daele, Manuel Priem, Julien Lieber, Jurgen Van Nooten etc… Herlings promptly won at the Keiheuvel in his first Belgian Championship participation last year. The 17-year-old super talent performs excellently on the KTM SX-F 350, but with Keeno in top form, he pulled off two very strong overtaking races during the GP in Bastogne, there are even more privateers on the coast. Home rider Jeremy Van Horebeek is currently stringing together the podium places in the MX2 World Championship. On the foreign side, the quartet of Gonçalves, Leok, Guarneri and Coppins all have the quality to compete at the front.
The sympathetic New Zealander Josh Coppins is currently active in Australia, but loves the Kesterheide so much that he wants to come and play in his second home country for this occasion. By the way, Coppins will be recognizable (quickly). After all, the Yamaha veteran is fighting for the MX1 title down under! In addition to the GP toppers, all national toppers and the young wolves of the Monster Energy MX2 Trophy give the best of themselves. As always, we can expect an open battle there. The Standing Construct-Suzuki pilots Jens Getteman, Nikolaj Larsen en Damon Graulus took the plunge in Mons. Now it's up to the other MX2 toppers, led by the reigning Belgian champion Kevin Fors, to succeed back. Fors in particular showed his speed in the Belgian GP last weekend, but still lacked a bit of endurance. Kevin must be even stronger during the shorter BC heats. Mark Boat was already on the podium in Kester last year, but also Kenny Vandueren en Brent Vandoninck have the speed to surprise.
BK Sidecars – Amacro Trophy
Belgium can currently boast a golden generation in the sidecar. In addition to winning the Sidecar Cross of Nations, the Belgian teams are in charge of the World Championship! Since last year, the tricycles have been making an appearance in Kester again. The duo Bax-Van Den Bogaart won then. Together with baking artist Kaspars Stupelis, Bax comes to the Kesterheide again. Since almost the entire world leadership is taking up the challenge, it promises to be a tough battle. Hendrickx/Smeuninx, Adriaenssen/Verbrugge, Van Daele/Van Den Bogaart, the Dutch brothers Visscher and many others make their appearance in the Pajottenland. In addition, you can enjoy the quad violence again in Kester because the BK quads is also present again.
Enough reasons to go to the Kesterheide next weekend! You certainly don't have to forego the entrance fee of 25 euros. For more information, go to: www.amcdworp.be
