FIRST: First riding impression KTM 2013 MX & enduro!
Our colleague Thierry Sarasyn can count himself among the lucky ones. Today he is in Italy where the weather is currently a bit more pleasant than in our region and he can test ride the new 2013 KTM motocross and enduro motorcycles. This morning he gave the following impression about the static presentation about the new models.
This afternoon it was time for the action! Or to put it in TV terms: “Over to you Thierry!”
'I'll bet my little toe that you can't say the same: it was a beautiful sunny day on a cross circuit and enduro course. KTM presented its 2013 off-road range in the Italian Citta di Castello and as promised this morning after the press conference, we are already back with the first driving impressions.
This year the Austrians mainly concentrated on dirt bikes. The biggest news there is the new 450 SX-F, with no less than 60 hp and 54 Nm. Where is that going? Just about anywhere you want. The SX-F 450 is a beast of a motorcycle. But then a friendly bear. With the four-speed gearbox, the arrival of a single overhead camshaft and the new petrol injection (finally also on the 450), the engine is all in all good to ride. That is to say: for a dirt bike with 60 hp on board. In Citta di Castello we rarely got to third gear and turning the throttle often in the corner was also not an option...' Read on here!
