Roel Verpoorten takes first Enduro title
Roel Verpoorten is the new Belgian Enduro champion at the Inters E1. Verpoorten finished with a wide lead (80) points over his closest rival Adrien Vandommele. The HM Hondadriver recorded three class victories in the past BC campaign. The rider from Scherpenheuvel was too quick for the opposition in Saint-Hubert, Bilstain and Esneux.
It is no coincidence that Verpoorten's victories mainly came on technical circuits. Verpoorten started his motorsport career in the trials, which means he excels particularly on difficult climbs. In recent years, the 30-year-old has also combined the BK Enduro with trials.
Verpoorten has been active at Inters E2008 since 1. Last winter, the Honda Leclerq pilot considered a switch to the Inters E2, but ultimately chose to stay in the lightest class. So it remains to be seen whether Verpoorten will defend his Inters E2012 title in 1. The Dutch-language editorial team of Motocrossmag.be congratulates Roel Verpoorten on his Belgian title!
Final score Belgian championship Inters E1: 1. Roel Verpoorten – HM Honda, 201 pts; 2. Adrien Vandommele – TM, 121 pts; 3. Tom Frison – Yamaha, 110 pts; 4. Charles-Antoine Allegra – Yamaha, 107 pts; 5. Frédéric Gauniaux – Gas Gas, 106 pts;
