Pascal Bal leads AMC Evergem to victory over Axel in three hours
The AMC Evergem team led by world veteran motocross champion Pascal Bal has won the three-hour race in Axel.
Bal took care of the first stint. Yet it was not the riders of the East Flemish club but Zeeland Flemish Van de Wiele/Stockman/Soeters who led the field of 20 teams after 36 laps. AMC Evergem followed behind the 'local heroes'. The top 3 was closed by the first amateur team: Pannecoucke/Tack/Vanrijselberghe. The MX Planet Suzuki team, tipped in advance as one of the favorites, only finished fourth. However, the entire East Flemish team would have a strong game of catching up to do. Forty laps later, however, it was the AMC Evergem team that had the lead. The Zeeland-Flemish trio was now relegated to 2nd place and had Team Ovaa behind them.
In the final phase, Kenny Kieschnick, Kevin Reynaert and Gaetan Van Den Bossche made a strong final sprint. The MX Planet Suzuki team took care of the two Dutch teams in front of them and would eventually finish 2nd. However, the victory went to the AMC Evergem team consisting of Pascal Bal, Jeffrey Dewulf and Ronny Van Hove.

2. MX Planet Suzuki: Kenny Kieschnick, Kevin Reynaert, Gaetan Van Den Bossche,
3, Team Ovaa: Casper Ovaa, Dennis Zoetewij, Stijn Hofman
