Jens Getteman focuses on the MX2 World Championship
Exactly three years after Motorsport Future was suggested has an athlete out Top sport Vlaanderen's motocross project has the prospect of a medal in a European Championship. Two games before the end Jens Getteman after all, the only Belgian who has a chance of reaching the final podium in the European Championship MX2.
De KEEMA Reytec Yamahadriver looks forward to his with confidence home game in lommel. "In Kegums I had not yet recovered 100% from the injury I sustained during the Radson Trophy competition in Tongeren” says Getteman. “In Lommel I will be fully fit and I am aiming for the podium. With 41 points behind European Championship leader Febvre, the title may be difficult, but I am still aiming for a top 3 place in the final standings” he adds.
Getteman is also looking further ahead, to 2012. The East Flemish national has World Cup ambitions. “Whatever the outcome of the European Championship, I would prefer to be in the MX2 World Championship next year. Another year of the European Championships would probably be a waste of time. But for the time being I have not had any contact with teams from the MX2 World Championship and so nothing is certain yet” concludes the standard bearer of Topsport Vlaanderen.
