Liam Everts starts EMX65 campaign with top 10!
Last Easter weekend the road to the European championship final for the 65 and 85cc was started in Emmen, Netherlands, for the 'North-West' region. In the 65cc class, many eyes were focused on the small, frail shoulders of Liam Everts. Fortunately, Liam Everts has few problems with attention and his main concern is the motocross itself, as with most of his competition.
The 65cc class saw true dominance of the Dutch. Because in addition to Kay Karssemakers, we also had a completely Dutch stage with Scott Smulders and Dave Kooiker. For us Belgians, the 65cc class is a sore point. This is due to the fact that in Belgium it is not possible to participate at national FMB-BMB level due to the lack of a class for these boys. Nevertheless, Liam Everts was able to place eighth overall with a ninth and seventh place.
Big points for Tallon Verhelst
In the EMX85 – Noord West it was the Dane Mikkel Haarup and the Dutchman Rick Elzinga who made the best of it. The victory went to the Danish Mikkel Haarup with a second place and a victory, compared to the victory and a second place of Rick Elzinga. In third place we found the British talent Christopher Mills, who finished third twice.
We found the best Belgian pilot to be Tallon Verhelst in ninth place overall. The young man deserved this place with a twelfth and tenth place in the heats. We found other Belgians further down the rankings, with Glenn Bielen at twenty-one and Storm Steensels at twenty-three.
