Arnaud Tonus and Lupino to CLS
Team CLS MX2 Monster Energy Kawasaki Pro Circuit will be coming out next year with two new young riders; Arnaud Tonus and Alessandro Lupino. They have both signed a two-year deal with the Kawasaki MX2 factory team.
Tommy Searle and Joel Roelants will both have to switch to the MX2013 GPs in 1 as a result of the FIM age regulation in the MX2 class. Vice world champion Searle will of course continue to drive for CLS. The Swiss Tonus and the Italian Lupino are each 21 years old, which means they can still ride in the MX2 World Championship for two seasons. Tonus had to miss a few GPs this year due to an injury. With a Grand Prix podium in the last GP of the season in Germany, he emphatically showed that he has all the qualities to play for top results in the next two years. Fifth in the MX2 World Championship in 2011, Arnaud is currently recovering from a broken tibia and fibula. However, in December he is expected to be sufficiently fit to start testing his Kawasaki KX250F. His new teammate Alessandro Lupino has been a fixture in the top fifteen of the World Championship since 2010. Lupino has already started training on his new bike.
Arnaud Tonus: “It has been my dream for a long time to ride for the Kawasaki CLS tea. Especially because I have always been interested in American motocross and supercross. And everyone knows how good the Pro Circuit Kawasaki motorcycles are. I have spoken with Jean Jacques Luisetti before, but this is the first time I was available and we had the possibility of an agreement. I hope I can get back to my best level soon. This season was difficult for me with an injury before the first GP. After that I had too many little problems, but it was great to get a podium at the last GP. I'm currently recovering from a broken leg, but I was able to start swimming a few days ago, and I expect to be back on the bike in December. Actually, I can't wait to start testing with Harry Nolte and the Pro Circuit Kawasaki people!”
