Getteman in the top ten, Butron wins the heat
In Kegums, Jose Butron won the first round during the third match of the European Open Championship. The Spaniard finished second but Giuseppe Tropepe was penalized ten places for ignoring a flag. Behind Butron, Gert Krestinov finished second ahead of Jere Haavisto.
The best Belgian is Jens Getteman, the GasGas driver crosses the finish line in tenth place. Thomas Vermijl finished seventeenth and also scored points. Twan van Essel finished 20th, taking the last point, just ahead of Pako Destercq. Raf Meuwissen does not finish and teammate Michael Sandner leaves the race early. As a result, Butron regains the lead in the standings!
The second round will be held tomorrow morning at 9:45 am local time and then we will know who wins the second race of the season.
