Jeffrey Herlings takes pole in Mantova ahead of Romain Febvre
The extremely exciting world championship in the MXGP class has settled in Mantova for the last two races of the 2021 season. During qualifying, it was Jeffrey Herlings who immediately showed his calling card and set the fastest lap.
However, Jeremy Seewer attracted all the attention by catapulting his Yamaha onto the starting track at the very beginning of the session. He jumped way too far but was able to resume qualifying. In the meantime, Herlings had already set a fastest lap.
Romain Febvre was always able to stay close to Herlings' time, but still had to give up a few tenths of a second. Antonio Cairoli was very fast on his way and took the third fastest time. Tim Gajser finished sixth. The first series of MXGP will start in Mantova soon at 12:00. Pauls Jonass will not start today, he tried but was still too bothered by his injury.
